"We can begin the summoning!"

Zhou Tong recalled the soul-summoning ritual Qing Qing's grandfather had described, then immediately set to work. He carved intricate patterns into the blood-colored altar.

Before long, however, grim winds surged as waves of dreadful Blood Evil Qi swept in. An enormous soul shadow materialized, frightening away every soul near the altar.

It was a colossal soul shadow, over thirty feet tall and nearly sixty, charging in from the distant sky amid Blood Evil Qi that resembled crimson clouds.

It was not alone. Several other colossal creatures flew over from afar beneath dark clouds. Within those ink-black clouds, several gigantic beast claws could even be seen taking shape.

Clearly, all the sacred souls in the surrounding region had come to feast upon Zhou Tong, this "sacrifice."
