In Northshire Abbey, three youths sat on the ground, laughing heartily.
"Medivh! I bet you won't dare peek at the nuns bathing next time! Hahahaha!"
Medivh, his face flushed with anger, retorted, "Shut up, Lothar! You were watching more enthusiastically than I was just now!"
Llane watched his two friends and burst into laughter.
Time flew by, and Medivh had grown into a handsome young man. He had only two friends: Anduin Lothar and Prince Llane Wrynn of the Stormwind Kingdom.
Ever since he gained control over his immense power, the priests of Northshire Abbey had ceased suppressing him. However, Medivh still rarely left the abbey, as he would periodically fall into a coma for reasons no one understood. It was all attributed to the power within Medivh.
"By the way, I heard you're going to Karazhan soon to officially take up your post as Guardian?" Llane stopped his friends' playful banter and asked.
Medivh nodded. "That's right. I've mostly mastered the Guardian's power, and I'm falling into comas less and less frequently." Seeing the worry on his friends' faces, he smiled. "Don't worry, I'll bring plenty of servants. If anything happens to me, my butler Morose will notify you promptly."
"I think your departure might have to be postponed. The Divine Emissary of the legendary God of Magic from the Night Elves is coming to Stormwind City soon. That's your mother's grand-teacher! It's said their power is unmatched..." Lothar suddenly remembered this and immediately told Medivh.
"Mother's grand-teacher? I've heard of him. Even Mother deeply respected and feared him, saying he was more powerful than the Guardian."
"Exactly, so stay a little longer. You can go to Karazhan anytime, no need to rush, haha."
The Stormwind Kingdom was ecstatic recently. First, the Guardian of Tirisfal took root in Stormwind City, and now they were welcoming an even more formidable figure.
The supreme emperor of the Night Elves, an extension of the God of Magic's Mortal Will, a legendary hero of the War of the Ancients, the teacher of Merith Winterwind, the scourge of Quel'Thalas, and the eternal friend of Emperor Thoradin and Lordaeron.
When the Night Elves officially sent such a long string of titles to Stormwind City, King Adamant of the Stormwind Kingdom felt as if joy had fallen from the sky. This formidable individual with such a long list of honors was someone he knew intimately from various biographies and histories. Now, this Divine Emissary suddenly wanted to stay in Stormwind City for a while – it was more than welcome! Forget staying for a while; if he wanted a fiefdom to become a noble in the Stormwind Kingdom, there would be no problem at all.
You say the Divine Emissary is from the Night Elves?
Nonsense! Didn't you see that the Divine Emissary has always appeared in human form? What does that represent! It represents that the Divine Emissary acknowledges himself as one of humanity!
Besides, if it were you, wouldn't you want them? Which king is foolish enough not to seize such an opportunity!
Thus, Stormwind City began to decorate itself with lanterns and streamers, preparing for the welcome far in advance. The scale of the preparations far surpassed that for Guardian Aegwynn.
A month later, the Divine Emissary first set foot on the soil of Stormwind City.
A massive portal opened, and the first to step out were the ferocious spider knights of Suramar. The Spellblades skillfully controlled the Arcane Spiders, forming neat ranks and standing silently, the only sound being the friction of their mouthparts.
Next came the Highborne mages of Suramar. These ostentatious individuals, for this public appearance, were dressed more luxuriously than one could imagine. Compared to the human nobles, the latter looked like mere stable hands.
Finally, the Divine Emissary's carriage made its grand entrance. It was a colossal Centaur Arcane Golem, entirely composed of purple arcane energy. Behind it was a carriage so luxurious it could only be described as being piled high with magic crystals.
With all personnel in place, the Elven procession began to cross the city gates and proceed into the city.
In Hero's Valley, King Adamant, along with his family and nobles, had been waiting early. Prince Llane, following behind his father, watched the Night Elf procession approach from afar with curiosity. He had only read about the Night Elves in books: they were the favored children of the gods, a powerful ancient race that had always resided in Kalimdor and rarely set foot on the Eastern Kingdoms continent.
The giant Arcane Golem stopped, and the carriage door opened. A young man emerged, clad in a black robe, with a giant runic disk floating behind his back and holding a magnificent staff. Upon seeing this, King Adamant quickly stepped forward, a smile like that of an old friend on his face.
"Divine Emissary, I am Adamant, Lord of the Stormwind Kingdom. Welcome! We in the Stormwind Kingdom are immensely honored by your visit, and the entire nation rejoices!"
Hu Feng smiled faintly. Having heard too many pleasantries and flattery in his past life, he felt nothing about it now.
"Your Majesty the King personally welcoming me makes me feel deeply honored. Ah, this must be Prince Llane." Hu Feng looked at Llane, who was walking beside the king, and smiled kindly at him.
King Adamant's face lit up. He hadn't expected the Divine Emissary to know his son's name. Parental feelings are the same in any world. Feeling that his child was being valued, King Adamant's enthusiasm became much more genuine.
"Indeed, Prince Llane, at such a young age, your strength is already so outstanding. I can also feel the light of your wisdom. You will be an excellent king in the future." Hu Feng saw no "light of wisdom"; he was merely stating what he had seen in history.
But King Adamant didn't think so. He knew the deeds of this Divine Emissary like the back of his hand. Now, hearing such high praise for his son, was Llane a favored child of the gods? The old king thought about it, becoming happier and happier, eventually taking Hu Feng's hand. His expression was as if he had found a long-lost brother.
"Medivh, how does it feel?" Lothar and Medivh watched the crowd in Hero's Valley from the Gryphon High Platform.
"Immeasurable... I've inherited most of the Guardian's power, yet I still can't fathom his depth. That Divine Emissary is like a black hole; even a slight probe felt terrifyingly immense." Medivh's eyes gleamed with excitement. "What's even stranger is that he seems to not exist in this world, as if he's just a will, without a physical body. How is that possible?"
Lothar shrugged. He was a warrior and knew nothing of magic, let alone mental probes. "Perhaps divine messengers are all like that, who knows."
"Divine messengers are all... Impossible... No, wait, wait! Divine... Divine Emissary... Will..." Medivh seemed to have discovered something, his eyes widening in disbelief.
"What's wrong, Medivh? Don't tell me you've been scared silly?" Lothar joked with his friend.
"I understand... There was no Divine Emissary at all, never!"
