After a bloody battle, the Fearless Expeditionary Force finally landed successfully and established temporary defensive lines along the coastal region of central-southern Borean Tundra.
The Alliance's first military fortress in the northern lands, Valiance Keep, would be built here.
Although the undead nerubian army responsible for blocking the Alliance forces had been temporarily driven back, they still lurked nearby, reorganizing their formations and preparing to launch another attack at any moment.
The Alliance also seized this rare window of opportunity and desperately began constructing tall, solid defensive walls. With the help of arcane construction golems, the walls facing inland rose at an astonishing speed.
Not far north of Valiance Keep, the Horde army, which had also landed successfully, established a temporary defensive stronghold within a basin. They would construct a towering steel building there called Warsong Fortress.
According to the blueprints, Warsong Fortress would stand at least twice as high as the basin was deep. The only connection between the fortress and the top of the basin would be a drawbridge. When enemies attacked, the fortress could raise the bridge, leaving them no choice but to endure the fortress's fierce assault, force their way down to the bottom of the basin, and then try to break an entrance through the thickest part of the fortress—a near-solid lump of iron.
The arrival of the Alliance and Horde drew the attention of Northrend Continent's native Murlocs and Tauren. These two races had basically been driven into hiding by the Scourge Army, and now that they saw two formidable newcomers defeat the undead Scourge's forces, they were immediately invigorated.
However, wary of unfamiliar races, the Murlocs and Tauren decided to wait and see, carefully observing the Alliance, the Horde, and every other aspect of the situation.
