Over a month later.

There was nothing much to say about the ninja team Yota joined or their supervising teacher. Ordinary-looking teammates, an ordinary-looking teacher—none of them left much of an impression.

Likewise, they had not gone through any tests like grabbing bells. Konoha was practically desperate to throw every qualified ninja who could serve as cannon fodder onto the battlefield right now. Go back to the Ninja Academy? Stop dreaming!

After briefly introducing themselves, Yota followed their nameless chunin teacher out to carry out missions.

Fortunately, Yota was treated fairly well. As a reserve Medical-nin, even though he only knew a hemostasis technique, he was still extremely valuable to a cannon fodder ninja squad like this. Thus, he was actually one of the people being protected within the team.

What was more, after Yota offered up his Wakizashi—which could be considered valuable, since it contained a small amount of Chakra Metal—the chunin taught him all three of his C-rank Earth Release ninjutsu.

Earth Clone, Earth Style Submersion, and Earth Flow Wall. The three techniques were all basically defensive, evasive, or deceptive. Just from that lineup, one could tell what kind of person this chunin was.

No wonder he had survived the brutal Ninja World War until now. Yota naturally gave him a mental thumbs-up and hoped he would keep it up.

Yota possessed Yang, Water, and Earth Chakra natures, so he could learn these Earth Release techniques. Although the ninja students of their batch were all cannon fodder, Konoha had clearly put at least some thought into assigning teams, generally matching them with chunin whose Chakra natures were compatible with theirs.

Still, after more than a month, Yota had only barely mastered the easiest technique, Earth Clone. That was only because he already had a foundation in the Clone Technique and had plenty of Soldier Pills to restore his Chakra. Otherwise, even a simple Earth Clone would probably have taken him several months.

After seeing how Uchiha Sasuke and Uzumaki Naruto trained in the original story, many people assumed that all it took to practice ninjutsu was hard work. In truth, what truly limited ninjutsu training was each ninja's Chakra reserves.

Especially for a young ninja like him. With Yota's Chakra reserves, after practicing Earth Clone five or six times, his Chakra would be completely drained. Without Soldier Pills, he would have to wait an hour for it to fully recover before practicing another five or six times. Thus, after graduating from the Ninja Academy, students generally had to sweep through the bandit groups in the Land of Fire first.

After killing people, Yota did not feel the nausea or urge to vomit described in so many novels. Of course, he also did not develop some antisocial personality that reveled in bloodshed and loved killing.

If he had to describe it, it felt like he had simply completed an ordinary task. Perhaps because he had transmigrated here, the people of the ninja world did not feel all that real to him, so he had little reaction.

In any case, the chunin leading the team thought highly of Yota's mentality. He was far better than his two companions, whose faces and necks had turned bright red.

Their safe period of gaining experience soon passed. At last, on this day, Yota's team received orders to report to the front lines.

He also exchanged some money for gold. After all, once he went to an unfamiliar world, the banknotes in his possession would surely become worthless paper. Gold, as hard currency, could be used anywhere.

It's best not to transmigrate inside Konoha... If I happen to return to the same place, Konoha might surround and hunt me down the moment I come back.

Yota thought to himself, suppressing the urge to transmigrate directly from Konoha Ninja Village.

The Chakra system of the Naruto World was still extremely powerful. Yota would definitely return someday, but that would be at least several years from now.

He did not think that if he returned to Konoha years later, Konoha would simply turn a blind eye to him. The most likely outcome was that he would be branded a renegade ninja the moment he returned. If he transmigrated outside the village, there would be no such problem. Konoha had so many genin that if a few went missing, no one would care at all. Not every genin was like Uchiha Sasuke, burdened with so many spotlights.

In fact, even if an ordinary genin without any important intelligence defected, the ninja village could not be bothered to send people after them. As long as they did not wear a Renegade Headband and flaunt it in front of Konoha ninjas, or go wild outside and commit atrocities like massacring civilians or robbing travelers, the ninja village would not bother with them at all.

Of course, surveillance might be stricter during wartime to prevent large numbers of ninja from fleeing. But no matter how strict it was, they could not possibly find Yota after he had already transmigrated to another world.

Early the next morning, Yota's ninja team left Konoha's gates beneath the morning sun. Then, on the road to the battlefield, the ten-year-old ninja vanished without explanation.

At the place where he disappeared, there were neither signs of battle nor traces of him fleeing. After searching for several hours, the chunin leading the team gave up because it was nearly time to report to the main camp. He could only report the matter to Konoha's higher-ups at the camp.

Naturally, no one paid attention to a genin who had just left the Ninja Academy. They merely added his name to the list of missing persons.

After several months passed without any trace of Yota, his status was changed from missing to presumed dead. Once a full year had passed, it was officially changed to deceased.

And so, the entire ninja world seemed to forget a transmigrator who had never had much of a presence.
