With a thunderous boom, Joker pressed the remote in his hand again, releasing another strange green poison gas that spread over the bizarre giants known as the Numbered.
These giants had always been violent-minded and dim-witted. The Joker Virus infected them with almost effortless ease.
"Ha ha ha ha ha! Hee hee hee hee hee! Ho ho ho ho ho!" Amid bursts of strange laughter, the giants' already peculiar faces twisted into bizarre, frenzied, even savage smiles.
However, unlike ordinary pirates infected with the Joker Virus, these giants became even more violent and crazed after infection. They were not content to vent their madness through wild laughter; they immediately began brawling.
Nekomamushi and Inuarashi, tied to wooden stakes, were the first to suffer. The leading giant used the stakes they were bound to like weapons and smashed them into the other giants. One giant was struck until blood poured from his head, while another crazed giant lashed out with a claw. The two immediately began fighting like mad.
Nekomamushi and Inuarashi had been turned into weapons. Not only were the giants being smashed bloody, but the two of them were constantly coughing up blood as well.
"Wow, what an intense fight!" Joker shaded his eyes with a hand, watching the giants battle one another with an excited grin. Even when he saw Inuarashi and Nekomamushi vomiting blood, he clapped and cheered loudly.
"You bastard, those are your companions. Don't you have even a shred of sympathy?" Queen the Plague said between gasps after crushing the last crazed pirate to death.
Kikunojo, whom he had been holding, had long since been tossed aside. Seeing Joker's applauding, delighted expression, it was simply wishful thinking to expect a hostage to interfere with someone like him.
"Sympathy? Of course, I'm a very sympathetic person."
