Before long, Dragon charged headlong into the so-called "battlefield."
After breaking through the surface layer of apocalyptic illusions, Dragon discovered speechlessly that Doflamingo and Sakazuki were sitting cross-legged atop Thundercloud Zeus, apparently chatting. A low table sat between them, covered with a few dishes and some sake.
"Yo, Dragon, you're here." Doflamingo waved. "I don't think I need to introduce this one. Sakazuki was your colleague for quite a few years."
"You two... what is this..." Dragon wore an utterly baffled expression. Looking at the two of them getting along so harmoniously, he did not even know what to say.
Was this really the Sakazuki he knew, the man who upheld Absolute Justice? Had his old man Garp possessed him or something?
"Forgot to tell you." Doflamingo patted Akainu on the shoulder. "Admiral Sakazuki is one of us now."
"Seriously..." An indescribable expression appeared on Dragon's face. Then he turned to Sakazuki. "I'm starting to suspect that one of us is under an illusion."
Sakazuki set down his cup. "There is no need to suspect it. I do indeed intend to overthrow the World Government. That is why I came this time, to meet with you specifically."
Doflamingo smiled outwardly while grumbling inwardly. He obviously came to find his son. Akainu really knows how to put on an act.
Dragon had only been momentarily shocked. He had calmed down by now.
"I was merely surprised. But thinking about it carefully, it does make sense."
No matter how twisted the justice Sakazuki adhered to was, it was still a conviction. As everyone knew, the World Government's politicians had never possessed anything like conviction. It was perfectly normal for the two sides to fall out.
Of course, if Doflamingo had not intervened, they might have maintained their cooperation for quite some time
