"Damn it, what's wrong with these wretches?"
Having narrowly escaped Flevance Royal Palace, the agent chief and his dozen or so subordinates had remained hidden in Flevance, waiting for the Buster Call fleet to arrive.
Yet to his surprise, less than half a day later, Flevance's residents had launched another major operation—one that nearly scared him out of his wits.
Ordinary citizens raised flag after flag. Written on them were slogans like "Down with the World Government!" "The Truth About Platinum Lead Ore!" "Down with the Celestial Dragons!" and "What Exactly Is Platinum Lead Disease?" Armed to the teeth with guns slung over their shoulders and grenades at their waists, they marched toward other countries!
"They've gone mad, they've all gone mad! Aren't they afraid of the Buster Call? Afraid of the World Government? Afraid of Navy Admirals?" The agent chief felt his scalp tingle as he muttered to himself.
"Of course they aren't afraid. After all, a person can only die once. What difference does it make whether they're killed by a Navy Admiral and a Buster Call, or die painfully from Platinum Lead Disease?"
A low voice sounded behind him. The agent chief's heart jolted, and he sprang forward before spinning around.
But when he saw what was behind him, the agent chief's heart went cold.
There was no one else behind him—only his fellow agents. Their eyes were vacant, and the one who had just spoken was the agent closest to him.
"Do... Doflamingo!"
"Oh? It seems you know me quite well. Looks like the World Government's publicity about me has been quite thorough."
The agent at the very front spoke. He looked as though he were sleepwalking, and even his voice had changed slightly.
"H-how could this be...? Someone like you, why... why are you here?"
