Trafalgar Law looked at his family's battered hospital, which had somehow still retained its overall shape, then at the streets that had been nearly blasted flat. He could not help feeling that life was unpredictable.
He remembered that just a month ago, Flevance had still been a tourist destination, with splendid scenery and throngs of visitors. The entire White Town had been bustling, and everyone had lived happy lives.
Yet after this turbulent month, nearly every resident of Flevance had undergone earth-shaking changes. Even the entire White Town had been reduced to level ground.
"Uncle Klemm and the others have all gone to sea. They said they wanted to see the ocean one last time before the end. And Williams too. I heard they formed the Vengeance Pirates and said they would make the World Government pay..."
"Sigh... what has happened to this world?" Trafalgar Law sighed like a little old man.
Back when he had finished that prophetic dream and learned the truth, Trafalgar Law had been consumed with rage. After the entire city was destroyed by the Buster Call, he had even felt the urge to destroy the world.
But unlike in the original story, Law's parents and younger sister were still alive. Although his sister had already begun showing signs of Platinum Lead Disease, she had received blood transfusions and dialysis before it flared up. At the very least, she still had several years left to live, and the early stages of the illness were not all that painful.
With people to care about, Trafalgar Law had clearly calmed down considerably. Or rather, he had become considerably more laid-back, showing signs of accepting his fate and giving up.
Otherwise, instead of calmly lamenting like a little old man here, he would have been strapping grenades to himself
