"What's going on?" Ace quietly asked in confusion. "Were they scared?"
"No, I don't know." Sabo wore an equally baffled expression as he answered softly.
"Were they scared of us?" Ace muttered, but no matter how confident he was or how much he looked down on these pirates, that still seemed hard to believe.
If they were really that timid, how had they dared to sail out and become pirates?
With that in mind, Ace drew a small dagger from his waist and quietly crept over to the bed.
When he reached the bedside, Ace felt the person hiding beneath the blanket trembling even more violently. He could even hear muffled sobs.
Gritting his teeth, Ace fiercely threw back the blanket!
"Ahhh!!!"
"Roar, roar, roar!!!"
Ace jumped in fright. Under the blanket was not a person, but a bald-furred lion.
But the lion was even more terrified than Ace. It covered its eyes with both paws and rolled to the edge of the bed, curling itself into a ball and trembling violently.
Ace had only been startled at first because it was unexpected. He and Sabo had seen plenty of wild beasts; back in the mountains, they had chased lions and tigers all over the place. Once he recovered, he naturally was not afraid of a mere bald-furred lion.
He pressed the knife to the lion's neck. "You, what the hell are you? Why are you lying in this cabin?"
This was the captain's room. No matter how he looked at it, finding a lion lying in the captain's room was far too strange!
After hearing Ace's shout, Lion Richie immediately lowered his paws. When he took a closer look and discovered that the ones standing before him were actually two children, the lion instantly perked up.
"Roar!"
"It stinks!"
