Closing her eyes, Nami could almost see the horrific scene from a few days ago replaying before her.
By the time the fish-man pirates came ashore, Cocoyasi Village was already in chaos. The villagers had all scattered and fled.
Nami moved like a nimble butterfly, swinging the long staff in her hand as she fought a group of fish-men. More than a dozen fish-men already lay sprawled across the ground, knocked down by her.
"Damn it, if I hadn't usually trained my body properly and awakened Armament Haki..." Nami was drenched in sweat and gasping for breath. For the first time, she felt dissatisfied with the version of herself that had always looked down on physical training.
Although Nami still seemed able to gain the upper hand through her agility, in truth, even the fish-men lying on the ground were only injured, not dead. At most, they would be able to get back up after a while.
But if Nami kept fighting for another ten minutes or so, she would run out of strength. Then she would become fish on the chopping block.
"Move aside! You can't even handle a little girl. Can you still call yourselves the strongest fish-men?"
At the sound of that voice, the fish-men who had been surrounding Nami all stepped back. A massive figure walked over, blocking out the sunlight before her. It was Hody Jones, the great white shark fish-man and captain of the New Fish-Man Pirates.
Nami took several deep breaths, trying to recover a little strength as she warily watched this opponent, who clearly looked difficult to deal with.
"Jahahahaha! Little girl, your Observation Haki is quite impressive. I never expected someone in the Four Seas to be able to use Haki."
"That's exactly why a human like you has to die!"
