The pain was bearable, but the pervasive weakness was far harder to endure. It felt as though every muscle, bone, and organ in her body had been filled with lead. Everything took far more effort than usual, and her reactions were nowhere near as sharp as before. After enduring the sensation for several minutes, Melita finally realized where that weakness came from.
