The weather in the Northern Hemisphere was warming up, and even the polar lands of Tarlonnd had gained the faintest hint of warmth with the changing season—when winds blew in from the endless ocean, layers of small waves rose along the shattered edge of the continent. icebergs drifted slowly across the distant surface of the sea with the currents, while schools of fish and some Deep Sea Creatures returning to these waters on warm currents became the most precious resource for the dragons trapped in hardship.
At the southeastern edge of the Tarlonnd Continent, Melita Pernia folded her great wings and landed somewhat precariously atop a massive reef jutting out of the sea.
Facing the ocean wind, the Blue Dragon raised her head and looked into the distance—she saw that the region where continent met ocean had become terrifyingly shattered. The once-solid Rock strata and steel coastline now resembled jagged teeth broken into several sections. A thick wall once stood along the continental boundary, supporting the Shield Generator, but it had now collapsed. Huge, craggy steel structures leaned into the sea surface, extending beneath the Seawater all the way to the seabed.
Above this broken coastline, even more inconceivable sights could be seen: boulders of every size, even small islands, had broken free of the ground and sea surface, floating hundreds or even thousands of meters in the air. Some islands hovered steadily, while smaller rocks slowly tumbled in the wind. Between these seemingly weightless objects, nearly transparent, vortex-like spatial rifts occasionally appeared. Spirit creatures and Elemental Creatures, exceptionally rare in the material world, drifted out of those rifts as if swimming through water, slowly moving among the floating boulders and islands before gradually vanishing with time...
"...Gravity Storms..." Melita muttered softly. "And all kinds of Space-Time Rifts..."
