The room remained silent for a long time.
It was not until several minutes later that Betty suddenly let out a soft cry of surprise. "Wow!!"
She seemed startled, staring wide-eyed at the Golden Giant Egg before her, looking completely at a loss. Yet she clearly knew she ought to say something to break this awkward, bizarre situation. After holding it in and thinking for a long while, she finally said quietly, "Hello, Lady Enya?"
"Hello, Miss Betty." The giant egg spoke again in a polite voice. The low, slightly magnetic female voice was pleasant to hear.
"You... you can talk?!" Betty's not particularly quick mind finally began to process things bit by bit. Perhaps because she was slow to react in the first place, she accepted the reality that "a giant egg could talk" surprisingly easily in the face of such a strange situation. She even began conversing with the pale golden "egg." "Then can you see me too?"
"Of course, but my 'seeing' may not be the same concept as the 'seeing' you understand." The egg calling herself Enya seemed amused. "I have been watching you all along, little girl, ever since several days ago, when you first began taking care of me here."
