Barrogel stood on the raised platform in the Dragonblood Hall, solemnly watching the twenty-two dragon heads arranged along both sides of the chamber. Those heads, almost entirely composed of Mechanical Structure, seemed not to have finished processing their previous thoughts. They bowed in silence, with only faint, flickering lights moving deep within their pipes. The occasional hiss of circulating pumps and gas conduits was one of the few sounds in the entire hall.
At last, the lights behind one of the dragon heads brightened, and the head slowly lifted. Drawn by mechanical arms, it turned toward Barrogel, and an emotionless synthetic voice came from its speaker: "Barrogel, shelter administrator, welcome to the Dragonblood Council."
One dragon head after another awakened from thought. Amid a series of light signals and mechanical noises, they turned toward Barrogel and nodded in greeting.
"Good day, councilors," Barrogel said, breaking the silence with a grave expression. "Have you reached a conclusion regarding the matter I asked you to simulate last time?"
"Regrettably, that thought process was terminated early by the Dragonblood Council," one of the dragon heads said. "The developmental trajectory of civilization in this era has completely surpassed the historical reference database. Unpredictable factors have exceeded the threshold. We believe that even if we forcibly continued the simulation, we would be unable to accurately predict the future course of the Alliance or dragonkind."
"Not only that," another "councilor" continued, "we believe there is no longer any need to use the Dragonblood Council to simulate such matters in the future. The Mythological Era has ended, Administrator. Our old simulation modules are no longer suited to the new situation."
