The howling cold wind swept across the land. In this ancient nation destroyed by war, nothing remained now but endless ruins and monsters wandering everywhere. Aside from a few Safe Zones and reconstruction isolation zones, as far as the eye could see across this land, there were only crumbling walls and strange, twisted landscapes warped by the Power of Divine Miracle.
Farther from the plains, the rolling hills and mountains were gradually being covered in hard ice—after losing the protection of the great shield, the former Dragon-engineered Ecosystem had completely shut down. The polar climate was rapidly taking over this land that was slowly returning to its primitive state. Permafrost, glaciers, frost—these forces belonging to nature were continuously spreading inland from the coastline, determined to restore this land to the state nature intended.
This was a realm unimaginable in the warm, stable human world—both in its devastated appearance and its incredible polar environment.
Yet for the adventurers who had crossed the Endless Sea with lofty ambitions, determined to strike it rich in this mysterious land, the harsh natural environment was hardly their greatest concern. The Elemental Creatures wandering between safe outposts and the rare things that could be found almost everywhere had already captured nearly all their attention.
South of New Agondor, Tarlonnd's temporary capital, a newly built district basked beneath the long-lasting sunlight of the polar day. Like other wasteland outposts, this district was surrounded by high walls. The walls were built mainly from huge stones, with alloy melted by Dragon Flame poured between them. Though rough in appearance, they provided the most precious protection possible on this dangerous land. Wide, straight roads ran through the outpost, while hundreds of houses built from stone, metal, and other easily gathered materials stood neatly within the walls. Every one of them
