Hearing Heragol's answer, Modir pondered for a moment before suddenly asking in a low voice, "I'm suddenly a little curious... a very, very long time ago, during some period I've already forgotten, did I really come to this place?"
Heragol gazed into Modir's eyes for a long while before gently nodding. "Yes, you visited Tarlonnd before—though you never actually set foot on this land."
Modir's eyes widened slightly. "So was the curse upon me left here?"
"I'm afraid not," Heragol said slowly, shaking his head. "At least, based on the clues we have, your condition was still normal when you left this land back then—and it remained normal for quite some time afterward."
Modir fell silent, seemingly lost in thought. Nearly half a minute passed before he raised his head again. "Is this something you can't tell me? Perhaps it involves Tarlonnd's secrets, or points to something that becomes dangerous simply by being known? If it's the latter, I can understand. After all, I've traveled outside for so many years... I must have encountered quite a few strange and bizarre things."
"Yes," Heragol nodded. "For now, we can't discuss this matter in detail—mainly because I can't be certain of the risks involved. But if our work here makes any progress, I'll contact you immediately."
"I believe that," Modir said, finally smiling again. Then he let out a soft breath and turned toward the room's exit. "Then let's leave it at that. I should head back and meet up with my companions."
"You still intend to return to the Adventurer Camp?" Heragol looked somewhat surprised. "What I mean is... as a Legendary Mage, you don't actually need to carry out those missions at the Adventurer Camp. I can arrange accommodations for you in New Agondor. Though conditions in Tarlonnd are difficult
