Towering Sentinel Towers stood at the borders of the filthy, dark wasteland. Their massive foundations resembled artificially piled hills, ancient and weighty, while the tower bodies, inlaid with crystals and elven runes, floated above their bases. Faint Flowing Light circled the giant towers, shifting across their surfaces and creating ever-changing angles of illumination between the runes and crystals. Using these colossal towers as nodes, the ancient and magnificent Energy Barrier descended from the clouds like a waterfall shimmering with dim light, cleanly dividing the wasteland from the Civilized World.
Accompanied by a loud, high Whistle Sound, the Armored Train General Winter rumbled into the Forward Base. Another batch of fully armed imperial soldiers, battle priests, and Warrior Nuns arrived at this frontline bastion. Philip, the imperial commander, tall and imposing in full military dress, strode quickly through the connecting passage beside the platform. At the exit beside the first carriage of General Winter, an extremely tall and muscular figure appeared, clad in heavy armor with a weighty Prayer Book hanging from his waist by iron chains. He walked toward the connecting passage, followed by a group of White Knights filing out of the carriage.
"High Priest Light," Philip said rapidly after hurrying over and saluting the tall figure. "I didn't expect you to come to the front personally. I'd heard that the Holy Sunset Legion was coming as reinforcements, but I never expected you to lead them yourself."
