It was a Living Forest, transformed from countless vine roots that had burst from underground.
Now, towering trees—tough, massive, and capable of predation—had formed a solid barrier along the edge of the wasteland, withstanding the fiercest wave of attacks from Aberrants and all manner of mutated monsters. Its reach extended from the Cecil defense line all the way to the breach facing the Typhonians, and part of its "feeding grounds" had even reached the Typhon positions. The terrifying giant vines and fissures opening across the ground left the soldiers on the line trembling, even causing moderate chaos in some areas. But no matter what, these "combat plants" that had emerged from the soil had saved the crumbling defense line.
The breach in the barrier, torn completely open by the destruction of Sentinel Tower No. 98, had been sealed. A considerable portion of the monster tide pouring through had become food for the Living Forest, while the rest panicked under this sudden blow and fled in every direction. The limited "discipline" they had displayed before collapsed back into chaos. Andesha did not know whether this was because monsters could feel fear, or because the Command Node behind them had been killed or fled the battlefield. She only knew one thing—
