The moment Bertram saw that brain, he realized that things might have developed beyond his expectations. But what followed left him no time to think—accompanied by a dizzying mental impact, every Dark Priest present felt their senses briefly fall into disarray. The next second, the fully armed, powerfully muscled "brain" began launching a ferocious assault on everything around it.

Magic Cannons let out piercing shrieks. Swords, blades, and spears brimming with Electric Light and scorching heat burst outward with arcs of electricity and flames. Heavy Mechanical Warhammers whistled through the air as they crashed down, smashing both wooden limbs and the rocky pillars of the cave into fragments that scattered everywhere. The Dark Priests hastily tried to organize a counterattack, but whenever they attempted to summon stronger magic, a stabbing pain pierced their minds. Powerful thought pulses disrupted their casting again and again, leaving even Bertram himself barely able to maintain a protective barrier and summon only the most basic vines to interfere with the "brain's" attacks.

Yet compared with the unceasing mental interference, immense astonishment shook Bertram's understanding even more. He watched his followers retreat step by step beneath the attacks of that berserk brain, covered in muscles and wielding a heap of heavy weapons. For a moment, he felt as though he were trapped in some bizarre nightmare, while a single overwhelming thought echoed endlessly through his mind—What the hell is this thing?!

Boom!!

A tremendous explosion erupted nearby, and the Shockwave it kicked up sent Bertram staggering aside. His mutated, plantlike body, which had long since lost most of its Human Form, felt intense pain beneath the blast. He knew he had been caught by the shelling—the Shockwave created by that magical weapon had penetrated his shield and injured the biological tissue beneath his wooden outer layer.
