To those who did not know the truth, that observatory might have been nothing more than a somewhat unusual Ancient Facility—it was old, mysterious, and perhaps held some knowledge or antique value. But across the entire Gondor Wasteland, such ancient facilities would not have stood out much, at most being somewhat better preserved. Gawain saw it differently. He knew the Vepranton Observatory inside and out.

Three thousand years ago, Amun struck the heavens. After some of its fragments spent a long time orbiting in space and slowly decaying from orbit, they fell to the ground. Some landed in the Vepranton Region of Ancient Gandor, an event known to history as the Vepranton Meteor Shower. The Gondor people subsequently built that observatory, along with numerous supporting research facilities for studying the objects that had fallen from the sky. Unfortunately, limited by their technological level, humanity of that era studied them for so long without figuring out what the Voyager Legacy actually was. It was not until the Gondor Empire collapsed, when the Northern Pioneer Army led by Gawain Cecil and Charlie passed through Vepranton, that one fragment was excavated from a basement. Like a hidden thread, it connected the Pioneer Hero on the ground with the Satellite Spirit in space.

To Gawain, the observatory was something deeply connected to him. He even felt that it counted as a kind of fate—and that fate extended in another direction, linking itself to the Typhon Empire.
