As Asalina and Cassandra discussed the possible "Self-Repair System" of this massive space station before the observation window, Nicholas Egghead, the chief engineering commander, floated through this open "Connection Section," "observing" this metallic holy land—which, in his eyes, could only be described as magnificent—with intense curiosity and excitement.

To others, the Iron Ball Star Person was merely drifting aimlessly around the room. In reality, however, his incomprehensible senses had already penetrated deep into this maze of steel and polymers. Beneath layer upon layer of metal walls, ceilings, crisscrossing pipes, and passageways, Firmament Station revealed itself before him in a more complex, more three-dimensional, and more unbelievable form.

He stopped in the middle of the room and "looked" down.

Beneath him lay deep structures several kilometers thick. Darkness and cold ruled over the dormant compartments and ancient systems. This enormous space station was in deep slumber, and from what he could "see"... that dormant state had lasted for countless tens of thousands of years.

To Nicholas, this was highly abnormal.

He could sense more clearly than other "people" the astonishing technological level contained within this station and the sturdiness of its structure. He knew that a space megastructure like this was far more "durable" than people imagined. He made a rough estimate—if Firmament Station had fallen dormant only in the past few centuries or even millennia due to age and disrepair, then that would be understandable. But if it had entered this state over a hundred thousand years ago... then it should not have suffered much damage at all.

Had some internal cause brought the station to a halt? Had it suffered a system-level attack or intrusion? Or could those "Voyagers" also accidentally build shoddy engineering projects?

Nicholas pondered as he slowly extended his senses deeper. He "saw" the cold metal
