In the last glow before nightfall, the ancient and mysterious City of a Thousand Towers gradually emerged before the world. This projected giant city, hanging upside down in the sky, covered the vast Wasteland Plains like dark clouds. Towering spires within the city hung down from the heavens, pointing distantly toward the earth—and scarcely a stone's throw from this mythical city stood the Aerial Fortress forged by Mortal Civilization. The towering Steel Rampart and hazy shield of the Dawn of the Mortal World gleamed beneath the dusk, while faint particles emitted by its Anti-gravity Engine drifted into a thin mist around the fortress. Several Gorgon Fortresses floated around the Sky Fortress like islands amid the clouds, slowly patrolling beyond the walls of the City of a Thousand Towers.

Victoria looked up at the two colossal cities in the sky and suddenly felt something stir within her. She seemed to see many things in this sight—the "Divine Era City" left behind from the ancient Mythological Era and the Aerial Fortress created by Mortal Civilization in this age occupied the heavens together. Two utterly different things now stood side by side. They seemed opposed, yet maintained a strange harmony and balance. They stood close together like brothers, yet a gulf that divided the ages in two lay between them.

Was this some unseen arrangement? Guidance and proclamation from the Night Lady? His Majesty's deliberate design? Or merely a coincidence that had, through chance alone, left behind an image future generations could interpret a thousand times over?

Victoria was briefly lost in thought, but Maggie's portable communicator soon interrupted her reverie with a humming sound—the Dawn of the Mortal World had sent word, telling them to take a Dragon Rider Aircraft that would soon arrive at the surface and head to the Sky
