In the fifth year of Cecil, during the final week of the Month of Harvest, Noi and Loren held their final FTL Communication before the Magic Tide descended.

When the giant sun over the Sorin Region reached its highest point in the sky, the leaders of every nation in the Loren Alliance connected to the listening ports of the communication link. Four light-years away, the sages and leaders of the Noi people also connected to their data network.

The voices representing the two civilizations were still Gawain on one side and the "witch" Nova on the other.

For this special day, Gawain had even left Cecil City and personally come to the command center of the Thorin Giant Tree—he would complete his final conversation with the Noi people in this hall, which had fulfilled an immensely important historical mission. Though, from a practical standpoint, this would have no effect on the communication process between the two civilizations, mortals always sought one symbolic meaning or another.

Every operation station in the Sorin command hall was occupied, and every control terminal stood by. Flickering runes and magical radiance flowed quietly across the Magical Metal bands along the walls and ceiling. Magic Net Terminals lit up one after another amid a low humming sound. The Mind Nexus pillar directly connected to the Calculation Center stood silently in the center of the hall, lights flashing across its alloy shell to indicate that it had established links with the translation assistance array, data centers, and other facilities.

An unusually solemn and silent atmosphere shrouded the vast chamber. The operators seated before every station sat in nearly reverent postures. Maintaining an FTL Communication did not require so many operators on duty at once, but on this special day, simply being present was part of their duty.
