Cecil's magic-powered Combat Corps left the southern border for the first time and set foot upon the Holy Spirit Plain.
Engines roared as steel chariots driven by gears and levers rolled out of Stone Fortress amid horns and whistles, advancing north in a mighty procession. Large transport convoys laden with soldiers and supplies also took to Kingdom Avenue, which ran from south to north, forming a giant serpent across the plain. Philip sat in the command vehicle near the middle of the First Combat Corps' convoy. He opened the armor plate atop the vehicle, leaned half his body outside, and watched the force through the faintly shimmering onboard shield.
Heavy warhammer tanks escorted the convoy on both sides of the road, their steel armor and main guns gleaming coldly beneath the sun. Large transports ran down the center of the road, staggered among Iron Ambassadors. Their spacious cabins were packed with fully armed soldiers. Every hundred meters or so, there was another truck bearing the silver-white fist insignia, troop carriers belonging to the White Knight Legion—the White Knights serving as military priests did not yet have their own main battle tanks, but through the efforts of High Pontiff Light, their legion had begun to take shape.
Beyond the vehicles, soldiers marched in formation—infantry were vital for ensuring the armored force's vision and emergency response capabilities.
