Daniel stopped in a plaza.
He sat on a bench with his eyes closed, resting, while his fingers lightly tapped the armrest beside him.
Invisible data flowed through the network. A consciousness on standby far away answered the bishop's summons. Along with a faint ripple appearing in the air, a female cultist in a white gown appeared before Daniel and bowed. "Bishop, you summoned me?"
"Mm." Daniel slightly opened his eyes and nodded. The female cultist before him was his subordinate in The Sleeper Cult. He had trained her for many years, and her loyalty was beyond doubt. He had even promoted her to the network security department. Even so, she was not qualified to know of her master's existence. She was merely a fairly satisfactory assistant. "Danna, there seem to have been some rumors in the network lately."
"Rumors?" The female cultist frowned, momentarily confused.
Daniel displayed the few messages he had just seen, and clear text floated before Danna.
To be honest, Daniel had not thought much of these messages at first. There were countless cultists connected to the Mind Network, and quite a few of them were either bored out of their minds or overly neurotic. Every day, innumerable useless messages flowed through this vast network, and excessively horrifying, incomprehensible urban legends were often part of that useless information.
But when he casually checked the statistics for those messages, he could not help but take notice.
These seemingly rumor-like urban legends... had appeared more than once over the past half month.
After carefully reading the information Daniel had displayed, the female cultist thought back for a moment and nodded. "Yes, Bishop. There have indeed been such rumors in the network recently, but they were all proven to be baseless."
Daniel raised his eyelids. "Proven?"
"Yes." The female
