It came from the stars.
Gawain stared at the kingdom's Guardian's Shield before him. His gaze passed over the weathered, rusted metal attachments covering the shield and settled on the silver-white Metal Plate that formed its main body.
The dim silver points of light flickering across the Metal Plate still pulsed slowly as though alive, like breathing. It had no life to begin with, yet it seemed as if it had been "alive" for millions upon millions of years.
After learning more secrets about the God-Slaying Fleet, roughly confirming that this metal had come from the stars, and speculating that it might be connected to his own "satellite body," Gawain could not help but feel even more emotions and thoughts whenever he looked at it.
He shook his head, driving those unimportant thoughts from his mind. Then he glanced at Amber, who was standing by beside him, before withdrawing his gaze and placing his hand on the silver-glinting alloy body. He allowed his Mental Power to spread into the metal's interior—just as he had done when communicating with the Eternal Stone Tablet.
For the first few seconds, nothing happened. At the end of his Mental Power, Gawain sensed only a vast emptiness. The ancient legacy from the stars was hollow within; no new fleet reports arrived, nor was there any message left behind by ancient pioneers for those who came after. But the next second, a deafening boom suddenly exploded in Gawain's mind!
He instantly lost all sensation of his body. His six senses seemed to become completely displaced at that moment, and human perception was replaced by some higher, more complex form of "perception." Yet his current body was fundamentally incapable of processing such alien information—so he felt his consciousness being stripped away and linked to a new "container."
