Watching Amber suddenly grow excited, Gawain fell silent for a moment.
There had to be something wrong with this goose's thought process.JPG.
It had thrown his emotions completely out of sync.
"You... calm down first," Gawain said helplessly, glancing at this disgrace of the empire. "I finally wanted to praise you for once..."
"Oh, then praise me," Amber said at once, planting her hands on her hips. But the next second, her attention shifted elsewhere. "By the way, what's going on with this shield? Didn't you say you were just going to 'communicate' with it? How did it suddenly start smoking while you were communicating?"
Gawain lowered his head and glanced at the Guardian's Shield, which was gradually cooling on the desk. "...Perhaps it was made to bear pressure it shouldn't have had to bear."
As he spoke, he silently pondered the matter in his heart.
During the process of establishing a connection with Firmament Station, something entirely different from his previous links with satellites had occurred. That put him on alert.
It seemed that even if he had somehow become a "Satellite Spirit"... connecting with those Ancient Facilities in space was not necessarily safe. Danger could come from entirely unexpected directions.
Based on everything that had happened when the connection was interrupted, Gawain guessed there might be two reasons. On one hand, perhaps the Guardian's Shield, this "Star Relic," had some kind of "upper limit." It could not sustain a data connection between a human mind and Firmament Station for too long, as confirmed by its current overheated state. On the other hand... perhaps his mind itself could not withstand this kind of "communication" beyond human limits. That could be inferred from what he had experienced before being disconnected.
But whether this second limitation stemmed from the strength of
