Gawain watched helplessly as Melita's face turned from red to white, then from white to red. The agent braced herself against the corner of the desk, her eyes suddenly widening as her whole body began to sway uncontrollably—then a low, strange muttering rose from deep in her throat. Countless whispers from different wills seemed to mingle within that murmur, while a pair of phantom dragon wings that nearly covered the entire study spread open in an instant. Within those phantoms seemed to lurk hundreds, thousands of eyes, all staring at Gawain's position.

The next second, all the eyes within the phantoms vanished. Melita forcibly suppressed the urge for her soul to tear apart and split, her knuckles turning white from the strain. Her unfocused eyes took a long moment to settle on Gawain. "Another one blew up..."
