Melita lay obediently on a circular platform as medical machines hummed around her. Several scanning probes slowly swept over her torso from above, while she half-closed her eyes and let the machines controlled by Omega bustle around her.
"This is the final examination," Noreta's voice came from nearby, carrying a hint of relief. "Once it's over, you can leave this place."
"Actually, I'm not really in a hurry to leave anymore..." Melita's lazy voice drifted from the platform. "I'm telling you, once I found out the Council was covering all the expenses here, I even wanted to pitch a tent on this thing..."
Noreta shot her friend a contemptuous look. "You can try—I guarantee the medical center staff will make you lie here for a full century. By then, you won't be able to leave even if you want to."
As they spoke, the last group of medical machines working around the platform suddenly emitted a low collective hum. All the scanning probes then retracted into their slots above the platform, and Omega's broadcast announcement sounded through the room, declaring the examination complete. Melita immediately shook her head and pushed herself up, muttering, "Forget it. I don't plan on being dismantled into parts and then diagnosed with minor medical damage..."
Before she finished speaking, a curtain of light enveloped Melita's entire body. As it slowly swelled and writhed, the massive figure of the Blue Dragon gradually vanished, and a human body took shape within it. In moments, Miss Blue Dragon had switched into her usual Human Form. She flexed her joints slightly, confirmed her sense of balance, and stepped toward the edge of the platform.
Noreta came up to meet her. "How do you feel? Better?"
