Gawain had never imagined that the reason the War God's faith system had been the first to develop problems would ultimately point to the "economic war" between Cecil and Typhon. And on that basis, many things had gone far beyond his expectations—
He had not expected different gods to possess different "tendencies," much less known how to predict a god's tendencies from the direction of "ideological trends." He had not expected certain changes in human society to affect their corresponding gods so directly, nor that some gods with "weak endurance" would react so strongly...
For a moment, he even wondered whether his development plans had been too far ahead of their time, or whether he had ventured into fields he should not have touched.
Yet another voice in his heart made a clear-headed judgment: mortals' desire to seek a better life was absolutely no original sin. He had known long ago that gods would gradually descend into madness because of the development of Mortal Civilization. Now, this influence had merely begun to reveal itself before his eyes.
When he carefully reviewed everything Cecil had gone through on its path to rise, he realized that those development plans had actually been the only choice—without all of it, Cecil would have been wiped out before it could rise. The southern region would have suffered massive casualties when the Great Wall first leaked, and the weak Ansu Kingdom would have lacked the strength to repair the breach at the edge of the Gondor Wasteland. The civil war and the divine calamity that followed would have completely destroyed Ansu, and Typhon's war of annexation would have come immediately afterward...
By then, human efficiency at killing might even have surpassed that of a divine calamity.
Still, he shook his head and could not help sighing.
