At Camil and Jenny's invitation, Gawain came to a "holographic analysis room" in the Rune Research Institute. In the center of the enormous square room stood a raised platform fitted with a high-precision Crystal Array. When the rune projector was activated, an incomparably clearer Holographic Projection than any ordinary projection appeared before them, accompanied by a faint humming sound.
Floating at the center of the image were several Sea Monster Runes with strange spiral shapes and curved structures.
The instant he saw those runes, Gawain felt a slight surge of mental vigor, even finding his thoughts a little clearer and sharper—though much of the latter was psychological. Technical Personnel had already tested it: Sea Monster Runes did not actually improve the operating efficiency of the human brain. They merely possessed powerful mental protective effects. The supposed "brain acceleration" was only an illusion experienced by test subjects when their minds were clear.
After pulling his gaze away from the runes that could raise one's SAN value, Gawain turned to Jenny beside him. "You said you made a major discovery in your research on Sea Monster Runes?"
"Strictly speaking, we've gained some understanding of the Sea Monsters' unique nature," Jenny said, nodding to an assistant nearby. The assistant immediately operated the projection device, causing the Holographic Projection in the center of the room to display the ever-changing form of a Sea Monster. Jenny added, "Oh, and all of our research has received Miss Tir's strong support."
Gawain nodded. "What did you discover?"
"We found that the things with 'mental protection' effects may not be limited to the 'runes' on Sea Monster bodies," Jenny said. "Any 'information construct' that can point to the Sea Monster race can produce similar mental protective effects..."
"Hmm?" Jenny's statement immediately caught Gawain's attention, and his tone rose
