Andesa did not let herself wallow in despair for long.
It was true that Typhon had fallen a step behind on the modern battlefield, but that did not mean Typhon's military strength had completely fallen behind the Cecilians'. Her forces were merely at a disadvantage under specific circumstances, forced into passive defense within Winterwolf Fortress. Even so, breaking through this line would not be easy for the Cecilians.

Heavy tracks crushed across the hard, frozen wasteland. The low roar of magic-powered engines and the mechanical grind of turning gears and linkage rods came from all directions. The barrels of Hammer main battle tanks were raised high, and ahead of this steel legion, the towering walls of Winterwolf Fortress and the glittering fortress shield had already come into view.
The first attack wave was gradually approaching optimal firing range. Inside a sturdy chariot, the formation commander watched the distant scene through a periscope. Apart from Winterwolf Fortress, there seemed to be no enemy obstacles left on the plains—no barely useful wooden barricades, no crisscrossing blockade lines, and no troublesome interception forces.
"They seem to have given up trying to stop our tank force out in the open," the commander shouted to the vehicle commander ahead and to the side over the loud mechanical noise. "We're closing in on firing range."
"Those Typhonians must know what a mess they've gotten themselves into by now!" the vehicle commander shouted back. "I thought the famed Winter Wolf Defense Line would be hard to deal with—this doesn't even look as tough as Boulder City's Crystal Legion!"
The formation commander immediately warned him, "Be careful! Those Typhonians have been acting strangely on the battlefield. Watch for traps..."
