The Telekinesis Template

Of course, Roy was not foolish enough to openly devour souls on a battlefield full of slaughter. If Serlun saw it, that guy would blow his top.

So Roy decided it was best to use the system's storage function to hide the souls. It was both discreet and quick, and Serlun, who was overseeing the battle, would not notice him devouring souls.

After wiping out this Aveli Elves village, the troops continued onward. Serlun rode atop a tall Nightmare Warhorse—his mount, Mordica. The massive Nightmare Warhorse was clad in thick armor, and whenever its four hooves moved, it left flaming hoofprints behind that took more than half a day to extinguish. Serlun sat atop the warhorse, gripping a huge black scythe, his weapon. A Demon Army numbering in the thousands surrounded him as they advanced, making him look exceptionally imposing.

Over the following days, this army occasionally encountered Elf Race hordes that were migrating. Whenever they came across these elves, Serlun would demonstrate the true nature of demons.

Destruction—nothing but destruction! Forget living creatures; even when they came upon abandoned villages, Serlun would set them ablaze and burn them to the ground. If one could observe from high altitude, one would find that along the route traveled by Serlun's Demon Army, there was nothing left but blood, corpses, and charred ashes...

Such vile acts naturally provoked the Elf Race's wrath. On the seventh day of the march, an Elf Race scouting unit approaching from the flank discovered the trail of Roy's Demon Army. Ordinarily, they should have returned to report it, but regrettably, after seeing the corpses of their kin, they were immediately enraged!

Besides wanting to avenge their fellow elves, they also discovered that this demon force possessed a large amount of Siege Weaponry. After sending out a warning by carrier pigeon, they caught up with Serlun's demon force from behind and launched a direct surprise attack!

They were not many in number, only around a hundred, but as a scouting force, mobility was their priority. Thus, this Elf Troops unit had no slow-moving types at all. They were all Pegasus Knights!

These pegasi were unique to the Aveli Elves. Though they looked exactly like ordinary horses, they had two broad feathered wings on their backs. Besides running on land, they could also fly swiftly at low altitude. An Elf Race warrior usually rode on each pegasus. Although these elf warriors were slender and not particularly strong, when they gripped their blades and charged at enemies using the pegasus's tremendous speed, they could often inflict enormous damage.

Over a hundred Pegasus Knights launched an attack on the Demon Army, and their objective was very clear: the supply train being dragged behind the Demon Army!

The instant these Pegasus Knights appeared at low altitude, they swooped down with howls, charging at the tallest catapults. As they flew past, the riders seized the chance to slash out with their blades, striking the more vulnerable support structures of the catapults. In just one round of attacks, four catapults were destroyed. When the catapults came apart, the heavy logs collapsed, injuring quite a few nearby Hell Hound demons.

The Pegasus Knights whistling overhead made Serlun jump with fury. He would rather lose his Subordinates than lose this Siege Weaponry, because with demon craftsmanship, repairing or rebuilding these devices was truly difficult. Without Siege Weaponry, once they encountered an Elf Race city, the forces under Serlun's command would be helpless. After all, the troops he led were all Low-Rank Demons, with few ways to attack tall City Walls...

When the Pegasus Knights circled at low altitude and came back again, Serlun abruptly raised the Demon Scythe In Hand with one arm. He used the scythe as if it were a magic wand. With that motion, a bolt of lightning suddenly appeared above the returning Pegasus Knights! The lightning first struck the leading Pegasus Knight on the head, then, with a crackle, its radiance leaped toward another Pegasus Knight behind him!

The lightning jumped back and forth through the Pegasus Knights seven or eight times. The Pegasus Knights had no time to react. Every Pegasus Knight struck by the lightning was scorched black from head to toe and, together with their pegasus mounts, plunged headfirst from the sky and smashed into the ground, turning into a lump of mashed flesh.

This was the magic spell Chain Lightning, and its power was extraordinary!

Seeing this, Roy could not help mourning for those Pegasus Knights. From his observations over this period, he had discovered that Serlun, this Upper Demon, knew all four elemental schools of magic in this world. Moreover, at least two of them had reached advanced levels: Earth Element and Air Element. The Earth Element magic was Earthquake Mountain Shake, which Roy had seen when Serlun detonated the volcano before, while the Air Element magic was naturally this Chain Lightning!

As for Water Element magic, Serlun used it rarely. However, when Roy had been summoned before, he had been struck by Serlun's Weakness spell. Even Roy's Bloodthirst Technique enhancement had been neutralized then, so his Water Element magic certainly could not be weak either.

As for the final Fire Element magic, Roy had not yet seen Serlun use it. But Roy guessed he definitely knew it, because demons of the Abyss World were born surrounded by magma and flames. Not understanding Fire Element magic was practically impossible. Roy even suspected that Fire Element magic might be Serlun's greatest specialty; the guy simply had not revealed it yet...

That was what made Serlun, this Upper Demon, so formidable. Not only did he know all four schools of magic, but their levels were quite high. However, Roy had not seen Serlun use Dark Element magic, and he did not know whether it was because the four elemental schools were better suited for warfare and marching, or because this world had some sort of restriction in its magical laws.

Roy guessed it was probably the former, because at the very least, he could use Bloodthirst Technique on himself without feeling any suppression from the world's laws.

In any case, Serlun's Chain Lightning made the Pegasus Knights tense up, causing them to spread out. This scouting unit was only a small force, and there was no Elf Race Hero among them. One Pegasus Knight who looked like their captain shouted loudly. This leading Pegasus Knight was somewhat different from the others: both he and his pegasus mount wore silver armor. Under his command, the Pegasus Knights immediately spread apart, denying Serlun the chance to continue using Chain Lightning.

Seeing this, Serlun snorted coldly and raised the scythe In Hand again. This time, however, he cast Protective Divine Shield magic, placing it upon his Demon Army.

Then Serlun roared at the Gegs in the army, "Fire! Shoot them down!"

Upon receiving the order, the Geg demons immediately spat saliva into their palms, then hurled it toward the Pegasus Knights attacking in mid-air. The next instant, massive flames exploded across the sky. These explosive flames required no precise aim. So long as a Pegasus Knight was nearby when they burst, the fire immediately ignited the pegasus's feathers. Once injured, the pegasi shrieked and fell, and the Hell Hounds that had long been watching greedily below immediately swarmed up, tearing both pegasi and riders into mashed pulp.

Seeing their companions killed, the Pegasus Knights' eyes nearly split with rage. The leading Silver Pegasus Knight shouted, "Revenge!!" Then he took the lead and dove down. Under his leadership, the Pegasus Knights charged down one after another and engaged the Demon Army in ground combat. At this moment, they had already cast life and death aside. They no longer expected to return alive, so killing even one enemy was worth it.

After charging down, one group held back the Demon Army's attacks while the other continued destroying the Siege Weaponry!

"Don't let them destroy the remaining catapults! Kill them!" Serlun roared. He squeezed the Nightmare Warhorse's flanks, swung the Demon Scythe, and led his army into the charge.

Roy naturally rushed forward as well. He charged into the Hell Hound pack, first joining up with Fat Tiger before facing these Pegasus Knights together.

Compared to the other Low-Rank Demons, Roy was much taller. The moment he appeared on the battle line, he immediately caught the Pegasus Knights' attention. After two Pegasus Knights killed the Hell Hounds in front of them, they immediately raised their longswords and thrust them toward Roy.
