The Ten Heavenly Lords’ conversion formations turned the Chan Sect’s attacks into a massacre of Xiqi’s troops, bringing Karmic Force upon Yuanshi and leaving Yu Ding and Daoxing dead. After both armies withdrew from Tong Pass, Guangchengzi panicked at the prospect of the coming battle at Lintong Pass and begged to be spared.

Ye Chen arrived with the Nine Great Golden Crows and three Demon Sages, and the Demon Clan committed to fighting for the Investiture of the Gods.

Jiang Ziya learned that Jiang Mieba was his son and grieved over his death at the hands of Immortal Weng of the South Pole. Meanwhile, Yu Hua and Wenzhong secretly revived Jiang Mieba, who awoke at Lintong Pass and learned that Lady Ma had died.

  • Immortal Weng of the South Pole killed Jiang Mieba before Jiang Ziya, and Jiang Ziya dismissed Lady Ma when she appeared at his camp accusing him of killing her son.
  • Lady Ma rammed herself to death outside Jiang Ziya's tent, then appeared to him as a ghost and revealed that Jiang Mieba was his son.
  • Jiang Ziya realized Immortal Weng of the South Pole had killed both Song Yiren's grandson and his own son, collected Lady Ma's soul in the Investiture of the Gods, and concealed his hatred from Immortal Weng.

Ch. 258The Western Teachings Advance East

Li Xinghe arranged for Jiang Mieba to approach Jiang Ziya at a crucial moment, while Ye Chen and the Chan Sect prepared to advance with help from the Western Teachings. The Western Teachings' leaders faced pressure to join the war despite their disciples' fear of Ye Chen.

  • Yu Yuan calmed Jiang Mieba's anger by explaining that Jiang Ziya had buried Lady Ma properly and secured her a place among the gods, then relayed Li Xinghe's plan for him to persuade Jiang Ziya to surrender.
