Objectively speaking, Gamora could not exactly be considered a good person. Whatever her true nature was, she had done plenty of bad things, whether under Thanos or Ronan.
Now she was finally suffering retribution, pinned against a wall by an enemy and about to be executed.
"Wait, don't get worked up!" At that critical moment, Quill suddenly appeared. He had noticed when Gamora was taken away and secretly followed her here.
To be honest, Quill's interest in Gamora was still limited to lusting after her body, but he was not that low. At least when rescuing her might get him dragged into danger as well, he still dared to step forward.
"Aren't you the guy this green bitch wanted to kill?" Drax the Destroyer held Gamora in one hand and turned to look at Quill, assuming he had come to settle a score too.
"A whole garage of women want to kill me." Quill rambled on. To prove it, he lifted his shirt and displayed the scars on his body. "This was from a Ravager babe. She was pissed that I slipped out in the morning without saying goodbye, so she stabbed me with a fork."
"And here, this was from a Kree chick who wanted to stab me in the chest."
In that regard, Quill and Evenson did have something in common: they always liked provoking fierce women they could not control. But what left Evenson far behind was that Quill actually dared to sleep with those fierce women and then abandon them—and was still alive today!
