The Burning Legion's forces were endless, their warfare savage, their demon lords exceptionally powerful, and their purpose singular. But if anyone thought they were merely a barbaric group relying on nothing but those qualities, they would be gravely mistaken.
Precisely because their purpose was so singular, they had no qualms about employing every force they could master as long as it benefited the war.
Shadow Power from the Void—even though it was the enemy's power, that was fine; it could still be used. Necromantic Magic from the mysterious Shadowlands, the realm of the dead, could also be used. If even such powers could be wielded, then there was even less reason to hesitate over magitech, which was regarded as pure technology and possessed tremendous compatibility.
Weapons of war had always accounted for a significant portion of the Legion's strength. Fel Mechs were among the finest of them. These massive war machines were incredibly powerful. Even an ordinary one could rampage freely across Hellfire Peninsula, let alone a creation personally built by Gingarlos. Whether Thrallmar's wolf riders or Honor Hold's patrols, anyone who ran into one had no chance of survival.
Moreover, these war machines had rendered distinguished service to the Legion. Back in the battle at Broken Shore between the Alliance and Horde, if a Fel Mech had not suddenly appeared at the very end, the Alliance's High King would not have fallen there.
Evenson's unit had been cobbled together by Gernos, but Gernos had once been a technological pioneer of the Legion and a winner of several Fel Green Banner awards. His craftsmanship was hardly poor. Although its engine was an old model that had been sealed away years ago, with less power than the Legion's current standard version, it was more than sufficient to deal with Xandar's army.
