All feasts came to an end. After the hosts and guests had enjoyed themselves, it was time to part ways. After all, no matter how generous the Kree Empire was, they could not let Evenson stay here mooching meals forever.
But just before they parted, Evenson suddenly remembered something. "I know the friendship between the Kree Empire and Earth goes way back. The Empire once... well... helped Earth solve quite a few problems. But Earth is no longer what it used to be, so from now on, how about we handle our own affairs ourselves?"
Friendship my ass! Evenson knew the Kree Empire had conducted human experiments on Earth long ago and might even have left behind secret bases. What he wanted now was to clarify the Kree Empire's stance on those things.
He had wanted to ask this question for a long time, but he had never had the chance. Cassius's wild speculations about the bank at the banquet had left him completely dumbfounded, and only now did he remember it.
"That is only proper. Since you call it help, then naturally we must consider whether the other party is willing to accept it." Ronan answered decisively. I stopped wanting anything to do with Earth long ago. Don't ask me why. I made a promise, and don't ask who I made it to.
"What if it involves matters that have yet to be concluded?" With Ronan's attitude established, Evenson pressed further. "Or rather, some facilities the Empire left on Earth... we can deal with those ourselves too?"
"Those facilities are indeed Imperial property." After giving it some thought, Ronan answered solemnly, "But we did not obtain Earth's consent when we built them, so you may handle them yourselves according to universal convention."
