Now that Dormammu and the Dark Dimension had retreated, New York's defensive core had been rebuilt, and the Hong Kong Sanctum had been restored to its original state through Strange's time magic, things could basically be considered over.
Evenson casually extracted Kaecilius's soul. Dormammu had completely abandoned him, greatly diminishing his strength. On top of that, his career and love life had both failed, leaving him utterly disheartened and walking around like a corpse. He did not resist at all.
As for how to deal with his soul later, Evenson had not decided yet. There was plenty of time ahead; he could slowly discuss it with Klayya and figure out whatever would make Kaecilius suffer the most.
But at that moment, infighting suddenly broke out among the Kamar-Taj mages. Mordo had always been stubborn by nature. After learning the secret Ancient One, the Sorcerer Supreme, had concealed, he had already become deeply dissatisfied and had even begun doubting everything he had done. However, with Dormammu standing before them as a great enemy, he had suppressed all of it and stood on the same side as Strange and the others.
Later, he witnessed the Star Absorbing Great Technique used by Li Lin, as well as Klayya's use of even darker power. Once the dust had settled, he could no longer endure it. He nearly erupted on the spot, and in his words, he repeatedly criticized the late Sorcerer Supreme.
That immediately provoked the dissatisfaction of nearly every mage present, especially since most of them were mages from the Hong Kong Sanctum. Though they had not been particularly close to Ancient One, they understood the most basic principle of respecting one's teacher.
