Evenson had long known that S.H.I.E.L.D. kept many things from him. Both Nick Fury and Coulson were like that. But there was nothing to blame them for. After all, they were agents. Even when dealing with people they completely trusted, they would hold things back because of their responsibilities and duties—let alone when their relationship had not yet reached the point of complete mutual trust.
"I already said extraterrestrial life—aliens. But whether they were drifters who had lost their homeworld, invaders arriving with a fleet and ill intent toward this planet, or the same kind as the alien whose blood was used to revive Coulson's body, I have no way of knowing."
That was far too broad a range, but Evenson felt the Kree were more likely. Coulson's body had been revived by injecting it with blood from a Kree corpse. Evenson had even seen that corpse once. Judging from its degree of decay, its preservation condition, and the state of its dissipated soul, the timing matched up perfectly with the late eighties.
Besides, the Kree could be considered frequent visitors to Earth. They had come to Earth as early as ancient times, built many laboratories, and left behind the Inhuman race. So it was not impossible that they had returned for another visit in the eighties.
But what had been the purpose of this visit?
An invasion? Evenson knew the Kree were such an aggressive nation that they could even be called ***. Their civilization had expanded from their homeworld into the Kree Empire spanning hundreds of planets. Could it be that all those other planets had voluntarily joined the Kree Empire out of admiration?
