Boom.
As Guanyin's words fell, Randeng and Maitreya's expressions changed as well, turning grave. From five hundred years in the future? And with the Moonlight Box in his possession? This made Randeng and Maitreya think of someone.
The man who had severely injured our Buddha Tathagata. When Tathagata entered seclusion, he had specifically instructed them not to provoke this person. If possible, they were even to take a detour upon seeing him. The person Guanyin described gradually overlapped with the person Tathagata had warned them about.
Randeng and Maitreya exchanged a glance, each seeing the shock and gravity in the other's eyes. Clearly, they had both thought of the same place—the same person.
Randeng said, "Guanyin Bodhisattva, do you know what that man looks like?"
"Yes."
Guanyin nodded slightly. "I do. He is a very handsome fellow, a fellow whose handsomeness cannot be described with words." As she spoke, Guanyin sketched Hun Xiu's appearance.
When Randeng and Maitreya saw the image of Hun Xiu that Guanyin had drawn, their pupils suddenly contracted. They sucked in a breath, and their already grave faces became even graver.
Seeing their reactions, Guanyin immediately understood. The two Buddha Patriarchs knew this man?
Guanyin asked, "Do you two Buddha Patriarchs know him?"
Randeng and Maitreya exchanged another look, then shook their heads. "We do not."
As soon as those words fell, Randeng changed the subject. "But we have heard of him."
Randeng continued, "Guanyin Bodhisattva, are you not curious why our Buddha Tathagata entered seclusion at such a critical point in the Journey to the West Tribulation?"
Guanyin nodded slightly. "This humble monk is indeed curious. Why would the Buddha Patriarch enter seclusion at a time like this?"
Randeng said, "Because our Buddha Tathagata was severely injured."
"Hm?"
As Randeng's words fell, Guanyin's calm face
