A cute little girl in a green robe appeared before Hun Feng and the other two, adorable beyond words.
The little girl was none other than Gu Xun'er, Hun Xiu's fiancée and child bride. Strictly speaking, even Hun Feng and the others had to respectfully address Gu Xun'er as "Sister-in-law."
Gu Xun'er had originally been on her way to find her Brother Hun Xiu, but when she passed by and heard that the three of them were going to find him, she gathered her courage and stepped forward to greet them.
In Gu Xun'er's eyes, her Hun Xiu was a "good person," so the three people before her had to be "good people" too.
The three looked at the adorably innocent Gu Xun'er before exchanging glances. A trace of delight flashed through their eyes, and the corners of their mouths curled upward.
Although Hun Feng and the other two did not know Gu Xun'er, that single phrase, "Brother Hun Xiu," was enough to show that she had a close relationship with Hun Xiu.
She was a little girl they could make use of.
Hun Huan'er crouched down and asked softly with a smile, "Little sister, what is your name?"
As she spoke, she reached out, intending to pinch the little girl's chubby cheeks. They were plump and adorable, making her especially lovable.
Seeing the "demonic claw" reaching for her, Gu Xun'er could not help backing away. Keeping some distance from Hun Huan'er, she looked at her with bright eyes and said crisply, "Sister, my name is Gu Xun'er."
Hun Huan'er's hand stiffened slightly, hanging in midair. She had thought she was about to succeed, but just as she was about to touch her, Gu Xun'er backed away, leaving her momentarily stunned.
Gu Xun'er was not someone anyone could touch. Other than her Brother Hun Xiu, no one was allowed to touch her.
"Gu Xun'er?"
Upon hearing those three words, Hun Feng and Soul Jade narrowed their eyes slightly. This was the Hun Realm of the Hun Clan, so it was quite surprising for someone from the Gu Clan to appear here.
Suddenly.
Hun Feng thought of something. His eyes widened as he stared at Gu Xun'er. "Are you my Sister-in-law?"
"Hm?"
Hearing Hun Feng's words, Gu Xun'er turned her large eyes toward him, her face full of confusion.
Soul Jade and Hun Huan'er were also slightly stunned by Hun Feng's words, but they quickly came to a realization.
Gu Xun'er? Wasn't she the one who had a marriage contract with Hun Xiu? It was said that she was the daughter of Gu Yuan, the Clan Head of the Gu Clan. The marriage alliance between Hun Xiu and Gu Xun'er represented an alliance between the Hun Clan and the Gu Clan, sharing honor and disgrace alike.
This news had spread among the younger generation of the Hun Clan two years ago. Countless young members of the Hun Clan had truly envied, resented, and even hated Hun Xiu over that marriage contract!
Hun Feng in particular had been furious when he heard two years ago that Hun Xiu was to marry the daughter of the Gu Clan's Clan Head.
They were both sons of Soul Emperor, the Clan Head. Why did Hun Xiu have a marriage contract, and one with the daughter of the Gu Clan's Clan Head at that? Why didn't he have one?
Because of this, he had even secretly labeled his Laozi, Soul Emperor, as "biased." But later, he came to terms with it.
He was inferior to Hun Xiu. Who could he blame? If he had been stronger than Hun Xiu, such a good thing as a marriage contract would never have fallen to Hun Xiu.
From that moment on, Hun Feng devoted himself wholeheartedly to cultivation, determined to one day trample this "brother" Hun Xiu beneath his feet.
This "brother" had taken everything from him. If Hun Xiu did not exist, then everything Hun Xiu possessed would have belonged to Hun Feng.
Yet now, as he looked at this adorable little girl, his nominal "Sister-in-law," he no longer felt envious.
He had thought this "Sister-in-law" would be around the same age as them. Now, it seemed that was not the case at all.
They were separated by so many years.
After learning Gu Xun'er's identity, the way Hun Feng, Soul Jade, and Hun Huan'er looked at her changed.
"Little sister, are you Gu Xun'er, the one with a marriage contract with my brother?" Hun Feng asked with a smile.
Though he already had the answer in his heart, he still wanted confirmation.
"Mhm."
Gu Xun'er blinked her bright eyes, nodded, and said crisply to Hun Feng, "Yes, that's right. Since Brother Hun Xiu is your eldest brother, shouldn't you call me Sister-in-law?"
The little girl spoke with great seriousness, wearing a smug expression. She looked so "arrogant," yet she was also incredibly adorable.
Hun Feng: "..."
Hearing this, Hun Feng felt utterly depressed and did not know what to say. It felt as though countless alpacas were ruthlessly trampling over his heart, and there was an "mmp" in his heart that he did not know whether he should say.
"Go on, call me..."
Gu X'uner looked at Hun Feng with her large eyes, her face full of expectation.
"Uh..."
Hun Feng's lips moved, but it was as if something were lodged in his throat. He could not say a word.
Seeing Hun Feng like this, Soul Jade and Hun Huan'er beside him could not help wanting to laugh.
But in the end, they held it in, because they had both noticed the look Hun Feng shot them.
Just as Hun Feng was caught in a dilemma over whether to call her that or not, Gu Yuan appeared and broke the awkwardness.
"Xun'er, you're being naughty again."
Gu Yuan appeared behind Gu Xun'er at this moment, his tone carrying a hint of reproach.
Hearing Gu Yuan's voice, Gu Xun'er quickly turned around and looked up at him. With her bright eyes fixed on him, she said crisply, "Father, Xun'er wasn't being naughty."
"Hehe... you."
Gu Yuan affectionately rubbed the little girl's head.
Then his gaze turned toward Hun Feng and the other two. Gu Yuan had been secretly protecting Gu Xun'er all along. After all, this was Hun Clan territory.
There was much that concerned him, so naturally, he had also heard what Gu Xun'er had heard earlier.
Looking at the three of them, Gu Yuan could not help nodding to himself. The power of their bloodlines was exceptionally dense: one Ninth-grade Bloodline and two Divine Grade Bloodlines. All three were in the Dou Emperor realm, and compared to Hun Xiu, they were only stronger, not weaker.
As expected of the younger generation of the Hun Clan. The Gu Clan was indeed inferior.
Under Gu Yuan's gaze, Hun Feng and the other two felt uneasy. Seeing how close this newcomer was to Gu Xun'er, they had already roughly guessed his identity.
If they were not mistaken, this man in black robes was Gu Yuan, the Clan Head of the Gu Clan and one of the continent's peak experts. Being scrutinized by such an expert made the three of them extremely nervous and uneasy.
Gu Yuan could see their unease and nervousness, and he secretly shook his head. Although the three of them have higher cultivation than Hun Xiu, they truly fall short of him in certain aspects.
Gu Yuan smiled. "There is no need to be so nervous. You three should be the leaders of the younger generation of the Hun Clan, correct?"
"Five-star Dou Emperor, Four-star Dou Emperor, Two-star Dou Emperor. Not bad. Xiu'er is no match for you."
