The corner of Dragon Soaring World's eye twitched.
He thought he was reckless enough, but the War Ladder was even crazier.
It had just helped him fight two demigods, and now it had handed him a godslaying job? What did it take him for, a professional hitman?
"Guild leader? Guild leader?"
When Dragon Soaring World didn't respond for a while, and his expression turned strange, Blood War Eight Wastelands edged closer and asked cautiously,
"What's wrong? Did that last slash take too much out of you? Did it damage your foundation?"
"I'm fine." Dragon Soaring World waved a hand and slowly straightened up.
He looked up and met Light Snow's searching gaze.
Light Snow adjusted her glasses. Her voice was fairly calm. "Guild leader, the War Ladder intervened in the fight just now. Did it give you a hidden quest?"
Trust Light Snow to get straight to the heart of it.
Dragon Soaring World didn't hide it. He knew full well that he couldn't complete a quest of this level alone.
He shared the Dark Gold quest directly to the Team Channel.
In an instant, every cheer and shout around him stopped dead.
The air seemed to freeze.
All the color drained from Blood War Eight Wastelands' face, which had been flushed with joy moments earlier.
His eyes widened as he read the quest objective aloud, one word at a time.
"Kill... one... genuine... god?"
His voice was shaking.
Gulp.
Someone swallowed hard.
"Am I reading that wrong? A god? The kind of god I'm thinking of?"
"You've got to be kidding! You want us to kill a god? That's suicide!"
