As he looked over these missions, Qin Chuan frowned slightly.
"The main quest is directly tied to the survival of our faction, and the penalty for failure is extremely severe," he analyzed in a low voice. "Ensuring the survival of a settlement with a population of one million is a tremendous challenge under the current circumstances."
Although Yan Country had many survivors, they were scattered across various strongholds. Aside from a handful of super-large strongholds like Kyoto and Magic City, few individual strongholds had populations exceeding one million.
It could even be said that none existed at all.
Faced with countless undead and demons, the more people gathered in one place, the easier it was to become a target.
Not every stronghold had an extraordinary combatant like Qin Chuan.
Moreover, the mission required "complete survival," meaning they could not suffer any devastating blow.
Qin Chuan continued examining the new panel, his attention drawn to "Sudden Event: Whispers of Divine Remains."
"Remains of a Fallen Deity... important Divine Item..."
A sharp gleam flashed through Qin Chuan's eyes.
For someone desperately needing to increase his strength, this was undoubtedly an enormous temptation.
Every divine war meant opportunity.
Whether it was the Sniper God talent or divine artifacts like Darkest Hour, all required greater power to wield.
And what exactly would the Personal Era Archives record?
With a trace of curiosity, Qin Chuan opened the final new tab.
The interface shifted. What appeared before him was not the attribute list or skill panel he had expected, but a character report more akin to an archive.
Player ID: Night Wanderer (Qin Chuan) Faction: Earth Guardians (Provisional/Pending confirmation of final choice) Era Rating: Extremely High Risk/Extremely High Potential (Dynamic assessment in progress) Key Interpersonal Connections: *Lord of Deception · Dies Martin (Relationship: Cooperation/Observation, Tendency: Chaotic Neutral) *Night Lady · Aleisa (Relationship: Cooperation/Protection, Tendency: Affection) *Ji Xing (Relationship: Core subordinate/Comrade, Tendency: Absolute support) *Yingluo Yezakura (Relationship: Core subordinate/Comrade, Tendency: Loyalty) *... (Some information collapsed, click to view) Behavioral Tags: Extreme tendency toward force, Rule Breaker (Old Era), Highly Efficient Hunter, Leader Template (Beginner)... Observer's Notes: The target has demonstrated extremely strong adaptability to and intent to exploit the rules of "Apocalypse," as well as intense hostility toward deities. He is an extremely unstable variable in the "God Chosen Era." Continued close observation is recommended.
Qin Chuan's pupils contracted slightly.
This was no longer a simple record of information. It was clearly a comprehensive analysis and real-time surveillance of him by the "Observer"!
From his interpersonal relationships to his behavioral patterns, even those so-called "Observer's Notes" carried a coldly scrutinizing undertone.
"Extremely high risk, extremely high potential, an extremely unstable variable..."
Qin Chuan silently repeated those evaluations. There was no anger in his heart, only the wariness of someone placed beneath a microscope.
Apocalypse's methods truly ran deeper than he had imagined.
This "Personal Era Archives" would likely continue updating along with his actions in the "God Chosen Era."
Every choice and every battle might be recorded, analyzed, and perhaps even affect that so-called "Era Rating."
Closing the Personal Era Archives, Qin Chuan looked toward the others and said solemnly, "I assume all of you have seen the new panel as well. I won't waste words. The other members of Peak and I will prioritize choosing Earth Guardians, and we will investigate everyone else within the stronghold to ensure its stability. Of course, even if players do not belong to our faction, we will not resort to force. We will merely ask them to seek opportunities elsewhere."
After a pause, Qin Chuan added, "Some of you may agree with me, while others may not. That is understandable. But there is one thing I must make clear first. Although Apocalypse has divided us into four factions in advance, and there is a strong possibility that we will become enemies, given the current situation, I still hope all of you understand who the true enemy is."
"Fighting among ourselves too early will only let the enemy reap the benefits. The undead, the demons, the God of Light System—those are our true enemies."
Inside the Command Center, Qin Chuan's words did not immediately earn everyone's complete agreement.
"President Night Wanderer, what you said is right. Those deities outside truly are a grave threat," someone below spoke up, worry evident in his tone. "But people's hearts are hidden. Who knows whether someone will stab us in the back? Before we drive away the 'true enemy,' our own people might fall into disarray first!"
Another stronghold leader could not help chiming in, "That's right, boss Night Wanderer. There are many of us in Yan Country, but there are just as many different agendas. What if someone pretends to obey while secretly defying us, or is simply bought off by another faction? That would be a real problem. Rather than guarding against our own people, we might as well..."
He did not dare finish the sentence, but his meaning was already obvious.
Qin Chuan's calm gaze swept over those who wore worried expressions. He could understand their fear, but he would not allow that emotion to spread.
"People's hearts are indeed the hardest thing to predict," Qin Chuan said, his voice still steady. "But if we abandon unity because we fear betrayal, then we have already lost from the very beginning. If we fight separately, those deities will only devour us one by one."
He paused, and his tone became even sharper. "As for internal dangers, I will deal with them. Peak Guild and all allies who choose Earth Guardians will establish a strict review system. Anyone who attempts to undermine our internal unity or collude with external enemies will face the harshest punishment."
Those words carried a chilling killing intent. The few who had harbored doubts felt a chill run down their backs and did not dare say another word.
Seeing this, Ji Xing immediately stepped forward. Her voice was bright and resolute. "The president is right! Our greatest enemies right now are those invading deities! As for our internal affairs, I believe the vast majority of people want to protect their homeland. Peak Guild is willing to take the lead, share intelligence, coordinate operations, and face this crisis together!"
Yingluo Yezakura nodded slightly. "Only with unified will can we concentrate our strength. We do not have much time to waste on internal strife."
Qin Chuan nodded in satisfaction. He knew that the resolve of the core team was key to stabilizing morale.
"Like me, all of you should have received the main quest, Spark of Civilization. The mission requires us to ensure the complete survival of at least one native large settlement with a population of one million. At present, Magic City and Kyoto have the greatest potential to meet that standard. But the words 'complete survival' mean we cannot let down our guard in the slightest."
Qin Chuan continued, "Magic City is Peak Guild's stronghold. It will be our core and the first front from which we demonstrate the resolve of Earth Guardians to Apocalypse. Reclaim Lost Territory, eliminate all hostile forces, and restore order to the city—this is our top priority right now."
