—Half an hour earlier—
Dawn City
The man with the silver ponytail looked at Kestos, whose gaze was lowered before him, and asked hoarsely, "Still can't get through by phone?"
"The line's completely dead."
Kestos leaned back in his chair and reached up to rub his already disheveled hair. "Not just Lynn—the entire Ilan City has been cut off from the Federal network."
He looked up at the silver-ponytailed man and sighed helplessly. "I have a bad feeling about this."
"Any news from the people you sent to find Linna?"
The silver-ponytailed man raised his head and looked at Kestos.
"On their way to Ilan City, they encountered some kind of Strange Barrier."
Kestos rested his hand on the desk and sighed softly. "They tried to enter it, but got lost inside the barrier and eventually circled back out. According to their observations, all of Ilan City and the surrounding wilderness seem to be covered by this invisible barrier."
"How high is the barrier? Can they go around it from above?"
The silver-ponytailed man asked quietly.
"They measured it. It's over a thousand meters high."
Kestos rubbed his brow. "Above that is a mass of dark clouds. The team has a sensitive supernatural, and he sensed strange, deathly cold supernatural power hidden within those clouds. It's also growing stronger over time. I've sent a supernatural investigation team to check it out."
"It sounds like some sort of Evil God Descent incident."
The silver-ponytailed man asked slowly, "Is there still time?"
"I don't know."
Kestos shook his head. "We're the major city closest to Ilan City. All we can do is whatever we can."
"I heard..."
The silver-ponytailed man looked at Kestos and spoke slowly. "There's an angel stationed in Ilan City."
"Yes. That's what makes this the worst possible situation."
