"This is K!"
After getting off the public bus, Reilly stood before the enormous stone sculpture and pointed at the character. "My sister said this is the god who created our world."
"When did she say that?"
He Ao followed behind her, looking at the still somewhat new stone sculpture. "This sculpture doesn't look very old."
"Uh..."
Reilly looked at He Ao and scratched her head. "A few days ago, maybe? There didn't seem to be any publicity about 'K' before."
Then she turned around and looked at the sculpture, speaking with some emotion. "But my sister said it might be nice to have a god. Everyone is too tired."
She paused, gazing at the symbol of K as she slowly said, "It would be even better if K could make our lives a little better."
Then she scratched her head again and turned to look at He Ao behind her. "I wonder if K can hear what I'm saying. Probably not, right? My sister said gods can't hear mortals' wishes."
"Then why are you still making one?"
He Ao asked softly, his gaze passing by the girl's profile as he looked at the stone sculpture.
"What if the god hears it?"
Reilly chuckled, then turned toward the broad, heavy stone building behind the relief sculpture, a structure like a castle.
Layer upon layer of stairs rose before the building, making it seem even taller and more imposing.
"This is the Discipline Office."
She pointed at the broad open entrance of the building and whispered, "That's the main entrance, but ordinary people like us can't use it. My sister said only important people who come down from above can go through that door. We can only use the little side door."
As she spoke, she led He Ao
