"Locke Te, is he really serious about this?"
In the spacious office, Hel frowned deeply as he looked at He Ao beside him. "He actually sent us a notice telling us to release them? Even in a normal case, the Mayor's Residence can't directly order us around like this, can it?"
"He never expected us to release them in the first place. He's just putting on a show."
He Ao casually placed the documents in his hand on the desk, then looked at Hel. "How are those two doing now?"
"As you requested, they've been placed in the Confinement Rooms. That's one of our most heavily guarded areas."
Hel picked up a tablet computer and showed He Ao the surveillance footage on it.
The screen was split in two, displaying the scenes inside two Confinement Rooms. Weiken and Lumbert, now changed into white hoodless prison uniforms, were each sitting on clean, empty beds, seemingly lost in thought.
"Aren't we going to interrogate them?"
As he handed over the screen, Hel asked somewhat doubtfully.
The other senior executives of the two major corporations had already begun being "questioned," yet these two, the highest-ranking among them, had merely been brought to the Confinement Rooms without anything being done to them.
"No need."
He Ao shook his head. "Just let them stay like that. I'll go see them later."
"Yes."
Though Hel had no idea what He Ao intended to do, he still nodded lightly.
As he spoke, he prepared to turn and leave.
Then He Ao suddenly remembered something and quickly asked, "By the way, didn't Boric handle investigations in the wilderness before? I'm going to see Weiken later. Have him wait for me by the Confinement Rooms."
"All right."
Hel nodded lightly, then hesitated before asking quietly, "Is something wrong?"
