Weiken sat at the table, staring grimly at the communicator before him.

"What is it?"

The Red Robe Man beside him looked up at Weiken. "Did something happen?"

"Those bastards on the city wall are never satisfied. They're deliberately trying to squeeze me,"

Weiken said angrily through clenched teeth, one hand pressing against the communicator. "They're raising their price at the very last minute, just before opening the gate."

"It's fine,"

The Red Robe Man smiled as he looked at Weiken. "Once you have complete control of this city, won't you be able to do whatever you want? Endure it for now. One day, you'll make them pay for what they did today."

"You're right."

Weiken's gaze darkened slightly. He glanced at the Red Robe Man, raised his hand, and continued typing rapidly on the communicator. "He still has some use. Let him live a little longer. If he wants benefits from me, he can repay them only with his life."

The Red Robe Man watched Weiken's somewhat flushed, aged face and listened to his angry yet suppressed voice. The smile on his lips spread wider.

"That's right. Let those greedy fools keep their miserable lives for now."

He spoke with a smile, but suddenly paused and lowered his head to look at the wristband on his arm.

"Is something wrong?"

Now it was Weiken who looked puzzled.

"Those watchdogs from the Municipal Police Department have actually set up hidden sentries at key points throughout the city. The moment they spot anyone suspected of being one of ours, they immediately move in to question them,"

The Red Robe Man said coldly as he looked at the wristband. "Those hidden sentries have made our original Slaughter Plan much harder to carry out."

He paused, then sneered.
