Crack—
He Ao grabbed the rock overhead and flipped onto the top of the cliff.
At his side, Kaila stepped on ice pillars extending through the void and leaped up as well.
"Have we crossed the northern mountain range?" She looked at the endless blizzard and flat snowy plains before them and asked slowly.
"I suppose so?"
He Ao nodded lightly.
He turned around and looked behind him.
A continuous range of mountains stood behind him.
The map had marked the location of the North Ice Field with a cliff symbol. It was only after reaching the icefield that He Ao realized the symbol meant the icefield lay above the cliff.
This icefield stood at least five or six hundred meters higher than the ground below.
Of course, terrain of this degree had little effect on either He Ao or Kaila. They could cross it easily.
However, He had not flown over. An angel's flight essentially twisted spacetime to lift the body. It could be used explosively over short distances, but over long distances, it consumed a great deal of strength and mental energy.
It was fast, but the energy consumption was truly high. Unless it was especially urgent, He Ao generally would not fly long distances.
Fortunately, Kaila's sleigh and ice path were also very fast.
"We're already very far from Rock City State." Kaila looked at the continuous mountains behind them and sighed.
"You're worried? Afraid Rock City State might still have other problems?" He Ao looked at her and smiled.
"You seem never to worry about such things?" Kaila turned to look at He Ao, a trace of confusion flashing between her brows.
"Perhaps." He Ao shook his head and smiled. "Actually, worrying is often useless. If something cannot be changed no matter what, there's no need
