"Loren, where did you run off to? The teacher was just looking for you."
Only after they ran behind a slide did the figure pulling He Ao come to a stop. He let go, braced his hands on his knees, looked up at He Ao, panted heavily, and quickly asked.
He Ao turned to look at the figure beside him.
It was a blond boy in pale white clothes, slightly shorter than He Ao. His face bore a few freckles and baby fat, while his azure eyes watched He Ao quietly.
"Finn, stop lying to me," He Ao said slowly, looking at him. "The teacher wouldn't be looking for me."
Hearing that, the blond boy froze slightly. Then, after a pause, he smiled. "Anyway, you can't stay outside getting drenched in the rain. Let's go back to the classroom first. Everyone's getting ready for tonight's welcome event."
"A welcome event?" He Ao paused, then asked, "What date is it today? What time is it?"
"The 17th." Finn looked at He Ao in confusion and glanced at the old wristband on his hand. "3:10 in the afternoon."
September 17th, three in the afternoon—the time Loren had climbed out back then.
He had "returned."
He Ao understood where that familiar feeling came from. Everything was exactly the same as the day Loren had left.
Except the day Loren left had been bright and sunny, without a single drop of rain.
"Loren, why are you acting so strangely today?" Finn looked at He Ao and reached out to touch his forehead. "Did you catch a fever from the rain? Do you need to ask the teacher for some medicine? And where did you get that spear?"
He Ao raised his head and looked at Finn.
Finn was the most popular child in the
