Dester's Death (Long Chapter—Please Vote)
A violent wind rolled over the surging fog. Layer upon layer of geometric mist wove together into a barrier across the earth, protecting the people evacuating below.
But now, that barrier was under a fierce assault.
The force seemed to come from the raging fog, yet also from within the barrier itself.
Faint cracks spread across its surface, tracing the shape of its imminent collapse.
Above it, the flame-wreathed Giant Bone Skeleton spread his hands and reached for the figure floating in the void ahead.
Those enormous skeletal hands did not seem to catch the figure, yet somehow seemed to hold him fast.
That warped, impossible overlap filled everyone's vision.
The reflection in the sky pressed lower and lower, growing ever more suffocating.
Faint yellow and purple light appeared within that immense reflection, winding and twisting together.
The blonde woman raised her head and looked at the sky.
Her brow tightened slightly. Her hand rested at her waist, and her damaged body, crackling with electricity, tensed as though ready to spring into action.

A violent roar came from the distance, seemingly the sound of an impact beyond the high wall.
The battle atop that wall seemed to have reached its fiercest point.

At that moment, the yellow and purple lights within the reflection plunged downward, as if they were about to break free of it.
The barrier formed from geometric shapes shattered. The fog it had held above the sky rushed down like a breaking tide.
